Navigate through a weird and whimsical underworld in this RPG inspired by Dante's Inferno and Alice in Wonderland. Meet some interesting creatures, solve puzzles, and navigate a twisted landscape as you search for your way back home.
As the lead programmer, game designer and narrative designer, I am responsible for..
Designing level layouts. As the game designer, I am responsible for utilizing art assets to create levels. I incorporated many features into our first level to guide the player, including clock checkpoints, a yarn trail, lamppost signage, and elevators for fast travel. I also design and program puzzles & level-specific mechanics.
Writing & implementing dialogue using Yarnspinner. I took on the role of writer and narrative designer for this project, utilizing Yarnspinner to create a save system for dialogue variables and commands that affect gameplay.
Designing UI elements. I illustrated and implemented all UI elements, including a pause menu with an inventory system, speech bubbles, and interaction icons.
Building systems for player interaction, movement & audio. All programming was done in Unity using C# and in Yarnpinner using their custom Yarn language.
